Admission

What students are we looking for?
The international MBA program of the School of Management aims to nurture international management talent. We expect our graduates to become drivers of digital transformation and continuous innovation in industry. The design of our program requires special skills and abilities of prospective students which is reflected in our admission procedures.
We are looking for students who demonstrate the following skills, interests and abilities:

•    good mathematical skills
•    interest in financial economics and information technology 
•    good leadership and communication skills
•    an interest in entrepreneurship /career in management
•    intercultural sensitivity and an interest in global affairs


How does the admission process work?

We wish to recruit students with the very best academic merit, potential and motivation, and welcome applications by all suitably qualified prospective students from different backgrounds. For international applicants, the admission decision is based on written documents, we ususally do not hold interviews. The documents have to be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs, but will be reviewed by the iMBA admission committee which carefully considers each application on an individual basis. 
The iMBA admission commitee considers:

► your academic results in your undergraduates studies (i.e.transcripts of your Bachelor's degree)

► your focus/ specialization in your undergraduates studies (i.e. did you take courses like mathematics, economics, marketing etc.)

► your work experience (i.e. work experience is preferred, but not an absolute requirement) 

► the diversity of your skills and interests (i.e. do you have hobbys or interests that you deem relevant for your application?) 

► your motivation letter or Statement of Purpose (where you have explain why you wish to join the MBA program at the Taiwan Tech School of Management)
 

How to apply? 

Admission to the MBA program is possible both in the winter and in the spring term,  please refer to the NTUST Academic Calender for the admission deadlines. Detailed information on the application process, fee payments etc. is offered  by the  Office of Academic Affairs. If you receive your Letter of Admission, the Office of International Affairs will assist with enrollemnt and getting settled at Taiwan Tech.

Credit waivers and credit recognition

After enrollment, students can be exempted from taking certain courses by applying for credit waivers if they can produce relevant supporting documents. The maximum of  waived credits must not exceed 50% of the credits reqired for graduation, i.e. not more than 22 credits taken at other institutions can be recognized.
The following conditions apply:

  • The name of the course and the number of credits that you wish to waive has to correspond to the name of the name / number of credits of the NTUST course 
  • You have to submit documents as proof, i.e. university transcripts and course descriptions
  • The course must have been completed successfully,  and the credits may NOT included in the credit requirements of your undergraduate degree
  • The minimum period of study of the Taiwan Tech MBA  program is one year, i.e. if you are granted credits waivers you will still have to enroll at Taiwan Tech for al least one year, within which you have to  fulfill all requirements for graduation to be awarded an MBA degree.
